This bill amends RCW 82.14.370 to allow rural counties in Washington to use the revenue from a sales and use tax to finance the construction of affordable workforce housing infrastructure or facilities, in addition to financing public facilities serving economic development purposes and economic development office personnel. The bill defines "affordable workforce housing infrastructure or facilities" as housing infrastructure, facilities, or land used by a qualifying provider (such as a nonprofit entity or housing authority) for housing for single persons, families, or unrelated persons living together whose income is no more than 120% of the median income for the county. The bill also requires the State Auditor to provide a publicly accessible report on the projects and expenditures funded by this tax.
