This bill provides a public records exemption for cellular telephone numbers obtained by the Florida Department of Financial Services through certain insurance license applications. The exemption applies to cellular telephone numbers held by the department before, on, or after the effective date of the act. The exemption is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and will stand repealed on October 2, 2029, unless reviewed and saved from repeal through reenactment by the Legislature. The Legislature finds this exemption necessary to protect applicants from potential identity theft, financial harm, or other adverse impacts, and to maintain the effective and efficient administration of the electronic filing system.
