This bill modifies the existing law regarding the expanded infertility treatment coverage health benefit. It removes the previous "pilot program" provision and instead provides a permanent $4,000 benefit to qualified individuals (those covered within the state risk pool and eligible for maternity benefits) towards the costs of each qualified assisted reproductive technology cycle, subject to the same cost-sharing requirements as their health plan. The bill also specifies that this benefit satisfies the requirement to provide an adoption indemnity benefit, and that a qualified individual cannot receive both this benefit and the adoption indemnity benefit. The bill also repeals the sunset date for this provision, making the infertility treatment coverage permanent.
