This bill establishes a municipal group insurance technical assistance program within the Workers' Compensation Board to help individuals and municipalities with accessing indemnity insurance and employee compensation as required under the Volunteer Firefighters' Benefit Law. The program will provide a toll-free hotline, website, and in-person assistance, as well as help with filing appeals, tracking issues, and educating people on their rights and responsibilities. The program will be funded through a competitive request for proposal process, and only domestic not-for-profit organizations will be eligible to submit proposals.
