AI Summary

This bill amends Florida's laws regarding school bus infraction detection systems. It allows school districts to contract with private vendors or manufacturers to install and operate these systems, which can detect vehicles that illegally pass stopped school buses. The bill sets requirements for these contracts, including that the vendor cannot receive a commission based on the number of violations detected. It also revises signage requirements, the process for issuing notices of violations, and how the collected civil penalties must be used by school districts - specifically for student transportation safety initiatives, driver recruitment and retention, or other transportation safety enhancements. The bill also clarifies that these systems cannot be used for remote surveillance and limits the use of recorded video and images to traffic enforcement and liability determinations.
