The bill provides exceptions for law-enforcement and governmental agencies.
AI Summary
This bill requires licensed manufacturers, importers, or dealers to provide a locking device and a warning about safely storing firearms when selling or transferring any firearm to a person other than another licensed entity. The locking device must prevent the firearm from being discharged without first deactivating or removing the device. The warning must advise that firearms should be stored unloaded and locked in a location separate from ammunition and inaccessible to children, as failing to do so may result in civil or criminal liability. The bill provides exceptions for law enforcement and government agencies. Violations of this law would be punishable as a Class 3 misdemeanor.
