This bill modifies the provisions relating to good time credit for offenders committed to the Missouri Department of Corrections. The key changes include: - Making it mandatory for offenders to receive additional credit for good behavior and participation in rehabilitation programs, rather than optional. - Specifying the types of programs and activities that can earn offenders 60 days of good time credit, such as earning a high school diploma or vocational certificate, completing alcohol/drug treatment, or completing 1,000 hours of restorative justice. - Allowing offenders to petition the Department to retroactively receive credit for programs or activities completed after December 31, 2009, if the petition is submitted between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025. - Clarifying that offenders sentenced to death or life without parole are not eligible for good time credit under this section.
