AN ACT to amend the elder law, in relation to volunteer programs
AI Summary
This bill amends the Elder Law to expand volunteerism by making use of the databases of statewide aging organizations and instituting volunteer certificate programs. The bill authorizes the Office for the Aging to enter into relationships with statewide organizations to establish a databank of individuals wishing to volunteer their services to programs that address the needs of the aging. The bill also allows the Office to establish training programs for such volunteers and the programs that utilize them. The purpose of the training curriculum is to prepare volunteers for the tasks they are interested in and train individuals in not-for-profit organizations to effectively and efficiently use volunteers.
