This bill authorizes the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration to issue special disabled veteran registration plates to veterans who are between 50% and 99% service-connected disabled, as designated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The bill prohibits the Administration from charging a fee for replacement registration plates in certain circumstances, such as when the vehicle's ownership is transferred from the disabled veteran to their spouse. The bill also exempts certain vehicles owned by or leased to disabled veterans from registration fees.
