This bill, known as the Voter Privacy Act of 2024, authorizes a voter to establish their identity at a polling place by presenting their voter registration card, a valid Maryland driver's license, or certain other government-issued identification with a photograph. The bill also allows election judges to verify the voter's address, except if the voter's personal information has been deemed confidential by the local board, in which case an alternative verification process would be used. The bill is considered an emergency measure and will take effect immediately upon enactment.
