This bill creates public meetings and public records exemptions for certain portions of meetings of the Audiology and Speech-language Pathology Interstate Compact Commission and its executive committee. The exempt portions include discussions related to member state noncompliance, personnel matters, pending litigation, contract negotiations, and other sensitive topics. The recordings, minutes, and records generated during these exempt portions are also exempt from public records requirements. The bill states that these exemptions are necessary for Florida to effectively participate in the Audiology and Speech-language Pathology Interstate Compact, as the compact requires such portions of meetings to be closed to the public. The exemptions are subject to legislative review and will stand repealed on October 2, 2029, unless reviewed and saved from repeal through reenactment by the Legislature.
