This bill amends a law to add two voting members that are transit users to the governing body of public transportation benefit areas. The new members must include one who primarily relies on public transportation and one who represents an organization that serves transit-dependent individuals. The bill also requires the governing body meetings to be reasonably accessible by transit and for the transit-using members to receive training on open public meetings and public records laws. The bill adjusts the compensation rates for governing body members and requires them to be adjusted for inflation every five years.
