This bill permits an employee to choose the attending physician who will provide services and goods resulting from a work-related injury or occupational disease, free of charge to the employee, regardless of whether the injury or disease occurred before or after the effective date of the bill. The employer is still responsible for providing an attending physician if the employee does not choose one, and must allow the employee's personal physician to consult with the attending physician when medically necessary or at the employee's request. The bill also requires the worker's compensation board to adopt rules to implement these changes.
