This bill amends the Ohio Revised Code to clarify that certain nonresident drivers with valid international driver's licenses may drive in Ohio without needing to obtain a separate Ohio driver's license. Specifically, the bill states that nonresidents from countries that are signatories to a driver's license reciprocity convention, to which the United States is also a signatory, may operate motor vehicles in Ohio without an Ohio license. These nonresidents must be able to prove lawful possession of the vehicle, their identity, and their legal presence in the United States. The bill also specifies that while an international driving permit can help establish a nonresident's identity and right to operate a vehicle, it does not replace the original driver's license issued by the nonresident's home country.
