This bill amends existing New Jersey law concerning domestic violence to ensure that counseling services are made available for minor children who have been exposed to domestic violence, either by being physically present during an act of domestic violence or by witnessing or hearing it. Specifically, it adds provisions requiring that both the victim and the abuser be informed of available counseling programs for such children, and that courts can issue orders requiring counseling for these children. The bill also makes other technical amendments to the domestic violence statutes.
