This bill prohibits state departments in Missouri from spending money on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives that promote preferential treatment based on race, color, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, national origin, or ancestry. It also prohibits state departments from mandating or incentivizing private sector employers to implement such DEI programs as a condition of receiving a state contract. However, the bill allows state departments to follow federal and state employment and anti-discrimination laws, as well as comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
