Bill Summary

This bill exempts from any liability for any damages caused by any law enforcement officer, firefighter, rescue squad member, or other emergency personnel breaking into a motor vehicle in which an animal has been left in conditions that the person reasonably believes are an immediate threat to the health of the animal and breaking into the vehicle was the last resort to rescue the animal from serious injury or loss of life.

AI Summary

This bill provides legal protection, meaning these individuals are not held responsible for any harm caused, to law enforcement officers, firefighters, ambulance and first aid squad members, and other emergency personnel who break into a motor vehicle to rescue an animal. This protection applies only if the rescuer reasonably believes the animal is in immediate danger to its health and that breaking into the vehicle is the only remaining option to save the animal from severe harm or death.
