This bill requires transportation network company (TNC) drivers, such as those working for Uber or Lyft, to complete an anti-human trafficking training course within 90 days of being approved as a driver or receiving the course from their company. The training, which can be delivered via web-based video or digital format, must be approved by the Attorney General and include an overview of human trafficking, its definition, guidance on drivers' roles in reporting and responding to trafficking, and information on how to report suspected human trafficking incidents. Drivers must certify their course completion to the TNC, and if they fail to do so, the company must prohibit them from using its digital network to provide rides. TNCs must create a list of drivers who do not complete the training by the required date, and this information will be noted in each driver's individual record. The legislation will take effect 60 days after enactment, with the Attorney General preparing necessary administrative actions in advance.
