Bill Summary

This bill requires a person who is eligible for Medicaid under P.L.1968, c.413 (C.30:4D-1 et seq.) to notify the county welfare agency that provides Medicaid benefits to that person about a change in circumstance that may affect the person's eligibility for the benefits no later than 20 days of the change. N.J.A.C.10:49-11.110:69-5.12 requires a Medicaid beneficiary to report any change in circumstance that that may affect the beneficiary's eligibility for Medicaid benefits to a county welfare agency no later than two weeks of the change. This bill extends the time within which the beneficiary is required to report the change in circumstance from no later than two weeks to no later than 20 days. The bill also requires the Commissioner of Human Services to apply for State plan amendments or waivers as may be necessary to implement the provisions of the bill and to secure federal financial participation for State Medicaid expenditures under the federal Medicaid program.
