This bill prohibits the use of certain animals, such as giraffes, camels, sharks, elephants, and nonhuman primates, in traveling animal acts. It defines "covered animal," "mobile or traveling housing facility," "performance," and "traveling animal act." The bill makes it a gross misdemeanor to allow a covered animal to participate in a traveling animal act, but exempts performances at permanent, non-mobile facilities if the animal is not transported there solely for that purpose. Additionally, the bill allows cities and counties to adopt more restrictive ordinances governing traveling animal acts.
