This bill aims to support statewide expansion of the Healthy School Meals for All program in West Virginia through maximizing participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) or other universal meal options. The bill requires schools that serve breakfast or lunch and are eligible for the CEP or other universal meal programs to participate in these programs. It also mandates that schools and school districts maximize federal funding for the cost of providing school breakfasts and lunches at no cost to students. If the federal reimbursement does not cover 100% of the costs, the state must supplement the difference for the school districts that receive less than full reimbursement.
