This bill authorizes the town of Milton to use certain land owned by the town's Conservation Commission and Parks and Recreation Department for school purposes. In exchange, the town will transfer other parcels of land to the Conservation Commission and Parks and Recreation Department, subject to the restrictions of Article 97 of the Massachusetts Constitution, which protects land used for conservation and recreation purposes. The bill also includes a provision that if the town does not appropriate funds for a new school by June 30, 2028, the land originally transferred for school purposes will revert back to the Conservation Commission and Parks and Recreation Department.
