This bill makes several changes related to penalties for eluding police vehicles and resisting arrest: It adds a new section to allow for the impoundment and potential forfeiture of vehicles used to commit the crime of attempting to elude a police vehicle. It requires offenders charged with attempting to elude a police vehicle or resisting arrest to be placed on electronic monitoring as a condition of release. It also requires the Department of Corrections to supervise offenders convicted of attempting to elude a police vehicle under community custody provisions. Additionally, it mandates that offenders convicted of attempting to elude a police vehicle be required to submit to electronic monitoring as a condition of their parole.
