This bill amends the existing laws related to student transfers between school districts in Oklahoma. It allows students residing in a school district that does not offer the grade they are entitled to pursue to automatically transfer to an adjacent school district without being subject to the capacity requirements, and it removes the provision that previously allowed automatic transfer to any school district in such cases. The bill also requires students who choose not to attend an adjacent school district to follow the standard transfer process outlined in the Education Open Transfer Act. Additionally, it makes some other changes to the procedures around student transfers between school districts.
