This bill amends an existing law related to the operation of motorcycles in Oklahoma. It defines the term "lane filtering" and allows motorcycle operators to engage in lane filtering, which is the act of a two-wheeled motorcycle overtaking and passing other vehicles that are stopped in the same lane and direction of travel, under certain conditions, such as the roadway being wide enough and the motorcycle not exceeding 10 miles per hour when passing the stopped vehicles. The bill also removes the previous blanket prohibition on passing other vehicles between lanes of traffic. The effective date of this bill is November 1, 2024.
