This bill amends Oklahoma's existing law related to riding motorcycles. It defines the term "lane filtering" as the act of a two-wheeled motorcycle overtaking and passing other vehicles that are stopped in the same lane and direction of travel. The bill allows for lane filtering under certain conditions, such as when the lanes are wide enough to pass safely, the motorcycle is not exceeding 10 miles per hour, and the conditions permit reasonable and prudent operation of the motorcycle. The bill also makes an exception to the existing law that prohibits drivers of motorcycles and other vehicles from passing between lanes of traffic traveling in the same direction. The effective date of this bill is November 1, 2024.
