This bill creates a new section in the Kentucky Revised Statutes (KRS) Chapter 244 to require retail licensees who sell alcoholic beverages to purchase a minimum amount of liquor liability insurance. Specifically, the bill mandates that retail drink licensees must have at least $250,000 in coverage for bodily injury or death of one person, and $500,000 in coverage for bodily injury or death of more than one person, arising from the sale or service of alcoholic beverages on the licensed premises. Proof of this required insurance coverage must be provided to the relevant state department in a form acceptable to the department.
