AI Summary

This bill proposes several key provisions to restrict the use of public and private funds for the American Library Association (ALA) or its affiliates in Georgia. It prohibits the Board of Regents, public libraries, and other government entities from using taxpayer or donated funds on ALA materials, services, or operations, with an exception for private funds used solely to support accreditation or re-accreditation of degree programs. The bill also dissolves the State Board for the Certification of Librarians and transfers its responsibilities to the Georgia Council of Public Libraries, prohibiting the council from requiring librarians to obtain a degree from an ALA-accredited program. Additionally, the bill prohibits the state's Department of Administrative Services from accepting bids or proposals from the ALA for state contracts.
