AI Summary

This bill, the Mississippi On-Farm Sales and Food Freedom Act, creates provisions that: 1. Prohibit any county, municipality, or other political subdivision from regulating certain agricultural or farm production practices on private property or restricting the retail sale or distribution of unprocessed agricultural or farm products grown or raised in the state directly from the producer to the consumer. 2. Clarify that the Act does not supersede local zoning ordinances or nuisance laws, and does not prohibit the regulation of land application of human waste. 3. Prohibit any requirement for a permit to grow or raise food crops, chickens, rabbits, or milk goats on private residential property or community/cooperative gardens, as long as the products are used for personal consumption and not commercial purposes. 4. Revise the provisions relating to the incidental sales of raw goat milk or raw milk products to include milk produced from cows.
