Bill Summary

This act would mandate that the workweek be reduced to thirty-two (32) hours. The rate of pay for a thirty-two (32) hour workweek would remain the same as the rate of pay for forty (40) hours. Work in excess of thirty-two (32) hours in any one workweek would qualify for overtime pay. This act would not apply to employers with less than five hundred (500) employees. This act would further provide that any obligation of an employer to comply with any contract, collective bargaining agreement, or employment benefit plan would not change. This act would take effect upon passage.
