This bill establishes the Agriculture and Fishery Vulnerability Preparedness Grant Fund to help farms and fisheries in Massachusetts plan for and adapt to the impacts of climate change. The fund will be administered by the Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs, in consultation with the Commissioners of the Department of Agricultural Resources and the Department of Fish and Game. The fund will provide grants to support projects related to controlled climate growing, energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate-resilient management practices, nature-based solutions, and infrastructure needs to enhance climate resilience. The bill also requires the Secretary to promulgate rules and regulations for the fund's administration and to file quarterly reports on the fund's activities.
