This bill requires the clerk of each court exercising criminal jurisdiction to compile a monthly report of all criminal fines and fees assessed by the court in the previous month and submit the report to the administrative office of the courts. The administrative office of the courts is then required to create and maintain a statewide database and searchable public website that compiles the reports received from the court clerks. The bill also requires the administrative director to provide a summary of the reports to the governor, legislative leaders, and the attorney general, and allows the director to include recommendations to improve statutes, rules, and policies related to the imposition, collection, and expenditure of criminal fines and fees.
