This bill amends two existing laws in Kentucky to expand and clarify military-connected educational benefits. Specifically, it removes the degree-seeking requirement for the nonremarried spouse and children of a deceased veteran to receive tuition waivers, and expands the educational benefit to include service members with a disability rating of 50% or higher, rather than just those who are 100% disabled. The bill also requires students to use federal grant funds towards tuition before using the waiver, and provides other clarifications around eligibility requirements.
