This bill, the Preventing Child Trafficking Act of 2024, directs the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) of the Department of Justice to implement the anti-trafficking recommendations set forth in a recent report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO). The bill defines "anti-trafficking recommendations" as the recommendations from the GAO report titled "Child Trafficking: Addressing Challenges to Public Awareness and Survivor Support," which was published in December 2023. The OVC, in coordination with the Office on Trafficking in Persons of the Administration for Children and Families, must implement these recommendations within 180 days of the bill's enactment. Additionally, the OVC Director must submit a report to Congress within 60 days of implementing the recommendations, detailing the steps taken to complete the implementation.
