This bill alters the definition of "rapid fire activator" to include "switch/auto-sear" devices, which apply force to a firearm's trigger bar to allow it to fire more than one round per trigger pull. The bill prohibits the transportation into the state or manufacture, possession, sale, offering for sale, transfer, purchase, or receipt of rapid fire activators, with an exception for individuals who possessed such devices before October 1, 2018, applied for federal authorization before that date, and received such authorization before October 1, 2019. The bill also imposes penalties for using a rapid fire activator, a switch/auto-sear, or a magazine with more than 10 rounds of ammunition in the commission of a felony or crime of violence.
