This bill creates the Small Single-Use Plastic Bottle Act, which prohibits hotels with 50 or more rooms from providing small single-use plastic bottles containing personal care products to customers in their sleeping rooms or shared bathrooms starting July 1, 2025. The bill extends this prohibition to all hotels, regardless of size, starting January 1, 2026. However, hotels can still provide these bottles to customers upon request at other locations. The bill also preempts local governments from regulating the provision of small single-use plastic bottles in a manner inconsistent with the state's regulations.
