This bill amends Tennessee law to allow "restricted retail businesses," such as barbershops, cosmetology shops, and cigar bars, to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, provided that the sales from alcohol do not exceed 15% of the business's annual gross sales. The bill sets requirements for these restricted retail businesses, including limiting the number of seats for food service to 20 and restricting the sale of alcoholic beverages between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. The bill also establishes a $2,000 license fee for restricted retail businesses and prohibits the sale or distribution of alcoholic beverages in cosmetology, manicuring, or aesthetics establishments that are not licensed as restricted retail businesses.
