AI Summary

This bill enacts the "Second Amendment Financial Privacy Act" in Tennessee. It prohibits government entities from maintaining records or registries of privately owned firearms or their owners, except as required for criminal investigations and prosecutions. It also prohibits financial institutions from requiring or permitting the assignment of "firearms codes" to distinguish firearms retailers from other merchants, or from declining payment card transactions with firearms retailers solely based on such codes. The bill provides enforcement mechanisms, including injunctions and civil fines, for violations of these provisions. It also allows firearms retailers and their customers to petition the Attorney General to investigate alleged violations and seek injunctive relief in court.
