This bill, the Abortion Funding Awareness Act of 2024, requires states that make Medicaid payments from federal funds to abortion providers to submit annual reports on those payments. The reports must include the amount, purpose, and comparison to prior years for each payment, as well as the number of abortions performed, gestational age, and abortion method. The Secretary of Health and Human Services must then submit a summary of these state reports to Congress and publish them online. The bill also amends the Social Security Act to require states to provide these reports as part of their Medicaid program.
