This bill aims to promote transparent and equitable reimbursement for services provided by Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs). It prohibits health insurance providers, including the state's Group Insurance Commission, Medicaid, and private insurers, from making distinctions in participation, coverage, and payment between physicians and APRNs, as long as the APRN is acting within their scope of practice. The bill also requires insurers to reimburse APRNs at least the same amount as they would reimburse physicians for the same services, and prohibits them from reducing physician reimbursement rates to comply with these requirements.
