This bill prohibits state departments in Missouri from spending money on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives or programs that promote preferential treatment based on race, color, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, national origin, or ancestry. It also prohibits state departments from mandating, requiring, or incentivizing private sector employers to implement such DEI programs as a condition of awarding a state contract. However, the bill allows state departments to follow federal and state employment and anti-discrimination laws and to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
