This bill, the Jenna Quinn Law of 2024, amends the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act to provide grants for training and education programs that focus on preventing, recognizing, responding to, and reporting child sexual abuse among primary and secondary school students, teachers, school employees, and the broader community. The grants will support field-initiated projects that improve student awareness of child sexual abuse, train mandatory reporters and adults who work with children to recognize and safely report abuse, and provide information to parents and guardians about child sexual abuse prevention and how to discuss it with their children. The bill also requires grant recipients to submit annual reports on the projects and services provided, as well as participant outcomes. Additionally, it directs the Comptroller General to evaluate the effectiveness of the grant-funded projects and assess whether they are duplicative of other federally-supported activities.
