This Resolution establishes the Senate Supporting Safety and Welfare of All Individuals in Department of Corrections Facilities Study Committee, a seven-member committee appointed by the President of the Senate, to examine issues affecting the safety and welfare of both staff and individuals within Georgia's Department of Corrections facilities. The committee, which will be led by a chairperson designated by the President, is tasked with studying current conditions, needs, and problems within these facilities, particularly in light of declining employee numbers and the large population under the Department of Corrections' care. The committee can hold meetings as needed, and its members will receive allowances for their service, with funding coming from the Senate's appropriations.
