This bill creates the Illinois Appliance Standards Act, which directs the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency to adopt minimum efficiency standards for various products sold or installed in the state, including automatic irrigation controllers, computers and monitors, electric vehicle supply equipment, faucets, gas fireplaces, portable electric spas, residential ventilating fans, showerheads, spray sprinkler bodies, state-regulated battery charger systems, urinals, water closets, and water coolers. The bill provides for testing, certification, and labeling of these covered products, as well as enforcement mechanisms for ensuring compliance with the efficiency standards.
