This bill requires members of public bodies, including local officials such as village clerks, town clerks, city clerks, and designated attorneys and records access officers, to complete a minimum of two hours of annual training on the state's open meetings law and freedom of information law. The training must be approved by the Committee on Open Government and can be provided in various formats, including electronic media, distance learning, or traditional classroom training. By December 31st of each year, those required to complete the training must file proof of attendance with their designated records access officer.
