This bill amends the Illinois Funeral or Burial Funds Act. It defines a new term, "transportation protection agreement," which refers to agreements that primarily provide or arrange for the preparation and transportation of human remains or cremated remains. The bill also states that the Illinois Insurance Code does not apply to any transportation protection agreement sold by any seller. Additionally, the bill specifies that the Act shall not apply to (1) merchandise delivered within 30 days of purchase, (2) transportation protection agreements, or (3) pre-need cemetery sales under the Illinois Pre-Need Cemetery Sales Act. Finally, the bill makes a change to a provision concerning payments under pre-need contracts.
