AI Summary

This bill, known as the Georgia Released Time Education Act, allows public school students in Georgia to attend courses in religious moral instruction provided by an organization independent of the public school, subject to certain conditions. The bill requires local education agencies to adopt policies that excuse students from school for at least one hour per week to attend these "released time courses." The policies must address consent, attendance records, transportation, responsibility for the students, and the use of public school property. The bill also allows local education agencies to award academic credit for these courses based on secular criteria, and states that students attending these courses will not be considered absent from school.
