This bill amends existing law in Idaho to revise adoptee access to adoption records after a certain age. The key provisions are: 1. For adoptions on or after July 1, 2022, adoptees aged 18 or older (or 40 or older for adoptions prior to July 1, 2022) can request a copy of their original birth certificate, medical/demographic information, and the adoption report upon completing a voluntary adoption registration process. 2. There is a 30-day waiting period during which a registered birth parent can indicate a preferred contact method, request no contact, or request their name be redacted from the records for 5 years. 3. The bill also allows for the issuance of an original birth certificate in certain cases where no certificate can be located. 4.
