This bill mandates that all insurance policies, plans, or contracts in the state that include pregnancy-related benefits must provide coverage for the medically necessary expenses of diagnosing and treating infertility in women between the ages of 25 and 42 years, including preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) in conjunction with in vitro fertilization (IVF). The bill also prohibits insurers from using genetic tests or information to make decisions about issuing, renewing, or setting the terms of health insurance policies. This bill will take effect on January 1, 2025.
