This bill aims to provide immediate child care assistance to homeless families. It does so by amending Chapter 15D of the Massachusetts General Laws to make homeless families eligible for the Department of Early Education and Care's homeless child care assistance vouchers, regardless of whether they meet work requirements determined by the Department of Transitional Assistance. The bill also allows a letter verifying shelter residency to qualify a family for a full-time child care referral, and it automatically qualifies children aged 0-3 years of homeless families for early intervention services. The Department of Early Education and Care is required to adopt regulations or policies and remove procedural barriers for the administration of this act within 90 days of its effective date.
